Abstract to Concrete: Using AI to Design Hands-On Science Lessons
Tuesday July 21, 2026 1:45pm - 2:45pm CDT
This is an interactive, workshop style session. After a brief demonstration of effective prompting techniques, participants will use their laptops to actively co-plan and revamp an upcoming science unit from their own curriculum. This session will show teachers how to use generative AI as an expert co-planner to instantly design active, age-appropriate science experiments using materials they already have in their classrooms.

Beyond "Evens Only": Strategic Supports for Rigorous Tier 1 Teaching
Thursday July 23, 2026 12:30pm - 3:30pm CDT
When students struggle to meet grade-level expectations, our instinct is often to "lighten the load"—assigning half the problems, skipping the hard questions, or lowering the reading level. But "less" isn't "access." To bridge the gap, we don't need to change the destination; we need to build better on-ramps.

In this session, we move past the "evens only" mindset and dive into high-leverage Tier 1 scaffolds that preserve rigor while providing a pathway for every learner. Whether you are supporting a student two years behind or challenging a student two years ahead, this session provides the blueprints for "High-Floor, No-Ceiling" instruction.
