Beyond "Evens Only": Strategic Supports for Rigorous Tier 1 Teaching
Thursday July 23, 2026 12:30pm - 3:30pm CDT
When students struggle to meet grade-level expectations, our instinct is often to "lighten the load"—assigning half the problems, skipping the hard questions, or lowering the reading level. But "less" isn't "access." To bridge the gap, we don't need to change the destination; we need to build better on-ramps.

In this session, we move past the "evens only" mindset and dive into high-leverage Tier 1 scaffolds that preserve rigor while providing a pathway for every learner. Whether you are supporting a student two years behind or challenging a student two years ahead, this session provides the blueprints for "High-Floor, No-Ceiling" instruction.
